*******Springfield FarmArt will be featured in "Art in the Alley" at Felicia's Atomic Lounge, Ithaca, July 1 - 31*******

Welcome to the very succinct website for Springfield FarmArt.  And yes, its part of my "corporate" website.  I haven't quit my day job yet.  But, I have long had a dream of metal sculpting and someday hope to bolster my living creating unique garden art and furniture from reclaimed farm implement parts.  (Weird dream, huh?) Contact me if you are interested in a piece or want to discuss a commission.

Garden or Patio Furniture

This table is constructed of leaf springs, harrow tines and a disk, topped with a 48" tempered glass top. Its a perfect size for a small patio.  Several different tables are available and no two are alike.  You can choose or commission one that best suits your taste.

This is a recently commissioned piece created entirely from a John Deere one-bottom plow found on the customer's property. The plowshare swivels in the wind while marking the entrance to the driveway and honoring the agricultural roots of this land.

Garden Art

Do you have a trailing plant you'd like to hang on your porch of from a tree limb?  This holder, made from harrow tines, a piece of chain and a disk, will hold any potted plant you can fit on it. Many other styles available.

Albert is my major domo, constructed of leaf springs and an idler pulley.  He spent most of last summer holding a large pot of lobelia and allyssum.  But he did take a break to help out at a party by holding a bucket full of cold beer.  He never complains about the jobs I give him!  I really think everyone should have an Albert or two.

About Springfield FarmArt

All of the pieces I create use the found curves and angles of the original components to impart a sinuous, organic design.  There is rarely any modification to the parts before incorporation into the whole.  All of the FarmArt pieces are suitable for outdoor use, in fact, most of the parts have been sitting outside, buried in some hedgerow for the last 30 to 80 years.  They can't rust any more (than they already are...), and sure won't rot.  No trees were sacrificed in the creation of FarmArt.  There is no finish, lacquer, paint or varnish used in creating FarmArt, so there's no harm to the ozone layer.  Give me a call (607-227-6928) or send an email (celrod@sfetech.net) if you'd like to toss around some ideas for your own piece of FarmArt.

New life given to old parts.  I wish I could do the same for myself!
